Artist Statement

This is mandatory for exhibiting at 317 Main. Due Tuesday, 4/24

When writing an Artist Statement it is good to consider the following, keeping in mind that the reader (usually in a gallery, perhaps on the web) is curious about what makes you tick as an artist:
  • speak to what inspires you,
  • what mediums you like to use and why,
  • and perhaps write a wee something about your work that is in this show.

You have already written statements that are on your iWeb page. Look those over and tweak them for this--in most cases that will be fine. You don't need to speak about anything specific other than this work, as folks viewing the 317 show will only be seeing this.

Of course, check your spelling and grammar VERY carefully. Your work should go into your shared google art documents folder and does not need to be more that two thoughtful paragraphs long.
